  • I had not determined how quickly I want to be realistically profitable.  “Right away,” is not a good answer.
  • I had not revisited the reason that I started The Christopher Quinn Group (CQG).  This is something that should always be kept in front of you so that you always know where you’re going. This also keeps you from taking on business that is not in line with your vision.
  • Although I know the vision of CQG, I hadn’t communicated it to anyone else.

Check your goals.  Are you on target?

I am featured among several very powerful women to include a judge, chaplain, CAO, and Minister, just to name a few. I was asked for a quote that motivates me. I didn’t have to think long, because for the longest time, I’ve always known that change is inevitable and we must always look for opportunities to grow.

“Even if you are on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.” by Will Rogers. I’ve lived by this quote for many years. No matter what changes we make today, we must always consider tomorrow. A true commitment to success is predicated on continuous reassessment and the resolve to make things better. This is so important where our careers are concerned. What we do today may not be what we want to do for the rest of our lives. It sometimes takes us a while to come to the realization that for whatever reason (money, family, following the crowd, etc.) we chose this path is no longer enough to keep us committed to it. We realize several things:

  • passion is lacking from what we’re doing
  • money isn’t everything
  • either start over or stay in a career we’re no longer interested in

Too many are caught in the cycle of waiting on someone else to plan their future (climbing the corporate ladder) because this is what we were taught for many years.
