Goal-Setting
ByI thought I had done a great deal towards completing my goals for 2009 until I met with a Marketing Consultant on Friday. I wanted to have her help me develop some marketing pieces for a folder that was designed for my business a year ago. Little did I know that this wasn’t going to happen as quickly as I thought. Kim proceeded to ask me what were my goals and it became very clear that I had not spent as much time with setting my goals as I needed to. Here are a few things that I found:
- I had not determined how quickly I want to be realistically profitable. “Right away,” is not a good answer.
- I had not revisited the reason that I started The Christopher Quinn Group (CQG). This is something that should always be kept in front of you so that you always know where you’re going. This also keeps you from taking on business that is not in line with your vision.
- Although I know the vision of CQG, I hadn’t communicated it to anyone else.
Check your goals. Are you on target?

It really is amazing how knowing where you want to go can make it a bit easier to figure out how to get there. Unfortunately, goal-setting can be the most difficult and time-consuming part. It’s something we all have to (and dread) doing. That reminds me…I’ve got some goals I need to revisit!
